Piper's Key is excited to introduce its new Educational Book Box Program, designed to help schools create a more inclusive and supportive environment for students with disabilities and diverse needs. This program provides carefully curated book boxes, each containing approximately 30 books that focus on disabilities and promote positive, empowering representations. These books aim to foster empathy, understanding, and inclusion among students, while also offering a variety of perspectives on the experiences of individuals with disabilities.
In addition to the books, each box comes with a comprehensive book guide that provides practical strategies for integrating the stories into the classroom. This guide offers suggestions on how to facilitate discussions, engage students in meaningful activities, and incorporate the books into lesson plans in ways that align with the school’s curriculum and support the needs of all learners.
The Educational Book Box Program is a valuable resource for schools seeking to promote disability awareness, ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and empowered.
These books are meant o be enjoyed by all students within the building and not specially gifted to a student with a disability. If you are interested in gifting a student a book for them to keep, please submit a separate request under the "Send a Book" page.
